IAL Mathematics

“If I were again beginning my studies, I would follow the advice of Plato and start with Mathematics.”                                                                                  Galileo Galilei

Mathematics is an essential tool and language for commerce, engineering and other sciences. It helps us recognise patterns and understand the world around us. Mathematics plays a vital, often unseen, role in many aspects of modern life, for example:

  • Space travel
  • Safeguarding credit card details on the internet
  • Modelling the spread of epidemics
  • Predicting stock market prices
  • Business decision making
